Our dispute resolution practice group led by our lead partner provides representation to various high-profile clients, including technology and telecommunication companies, banks and other financial institutions, in very complex disputes at the various levels of our Courts in Ghana, as well as before other adjudicatory bodies, including arbitration panels, in and outside Ghana.

ANDREW NII ADJEI KHARTEY, MCIArb
Lead Partner
Andrew is a passionate and highly professional dispute resolution lawyer who has over the years, honed his skills and justified the confidence reposed in him by the many clients- both local and international, who have engaged his services. Andrew’s experience as a go-to corporate and commercial dispute resolution lawyer is evidenced by the array of dispute resolution cases handled by him in the past years. As a well-rounded dispute resolution lawyer, Andrew has represented a number of clients in arbitration proceedings, including a foreign embassy in Ghana.
His experience in dispute resolution covers construction and infrastructure disputes, employment and labour, land and real estate, negligence, as well as family and probate matters. Andrew’s fierceness in debt recovery, has made him a toast of a number of financial institutions who have retained him and the Firm to assist recover debts owed them. His knack for highly technical cases, has seen him appear before many superior courts in Ghana, and has contributed to shaping the procedural rules and substantive law in Ghana.
Beyond his natural passion for dispute resolution, he easily and competently offers transaction advisory services, and has been involved in several transactions involving companies in various sectors of the economy. He is a legislative drafter, having studied legislative drafting at the Ghana School of Law, and has been a part of a team that facilitated stakeholder consultations for a proposed amendment to an existing legislation, as well as helping draft the proposed amended legislation.
Andrew holds certificates in International Human Rights Law, and International Oil and Gas Law from the Fordham University, and a Diplôme d’études En Langue Francais Niveau B1. He obtained his LLB from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law. He has a Masters Degree in Energy and Sustainable Management. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
Nana Adjoa Adobea Asante

Nana Adjoa is a lawyer, technology enthusiast and social development activist. She is the Secretary to the National Communications Authority, the national regulator of the electronic communications industry in Ghana. She works closely with the Chairperson, the Board and Management to ensure the efficient running of the corporate governance structures of the Authority. Prior to her employment with the National Communications Authority, she was in 2018 appointed the Executive Director of the National Folklore Board, the state institution responsible for protecting the intangible cultural heritage of Ghana. During her tenure, she facilitated the passage of the folklore user fees into law and the Folklore Board also gained international recognition.
She was also a speaker on telecommunications at the 2023 International Bar Association Communications and Competition Conference in Rome, Italy and the 2023 International Bar Association Conference in Paris, France.
She is a board member of the Institute of ICT Professionals of Ghana as well as the Street Children Empowerment Foundation and a member of Women in Mining Ghana. She is also the founding director of the Social Bridge, an NGO that engages in social intervention projects. Nana Adjoa was a board member of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), the authorised body, legally permitted to assay, buy and sell precious minerals and to license agents in Ghana. She was also a member of the board of directors of the PMMC Jewellery Limited.
Nana Adjoa was called to the Ghana Bar in 2015. She has Certificates in Sustainable Dispute Resolution, Sustainable Development and International Anti- Corruption from the University of Milan, Italy and a Masters in Business Administration. She also has a Massachusetts Institute of Technology Certificate (MITx) in Policy for Science, Innovation and Technology.
Her legal expertise spans advisory services to international and Ghanaian clients on high profile transactions across various fields including corporate and commercial law, minerals and mining law, intellectual property law and labor law; due diligence reporting; drafting and review of legal documents, and providing clients with company incorporation and company secretarial services. She has worked with reputable law firms in Ghana namely Kulendi@Law, and JLD & MB Legal Consultancy. She was one of the two young female lawyers selected in 2017 to participate in the ASLA (Association of Legal Studies Associates) Lioness of Africa Project where she worked with Freshfields Bruckhaus Derringer and NCTM Studio Legale in Italy.
Nana Adjoa has also represented Ghana at the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), UNESCO, the Commonwealth and Open Society Initiative. She has also published an article in the International Bar Association Newsletter and was a speaker on telecommunications at the 2023 International Bar Association Communications and Competition Conference in Rome, Italy, and at the 2023 International Bar Association Conference in Paris, France.
Bridget Konadu Afuduo

Bridget has established herself as a lawyer in the energy space. She is the Legal Manager at CENIT Energy Limited, an independent power producer in Ghana. Her areas of expertise include energy and environmental law, Company Secretarial Practice, Corporate & Commercial Law, Labour & Employment Law, and Intellectual Property Law. She has a lot of experience in Company Secretarial Practice and has acted as Board Secretary for various companies in Ghana and handled company compliance for various companies.
She was involved in the successful negotiations between CENIT and the Government of Ghana on the Energy Sector Reform Program for an amendment in CENIT’s PPA agreement with the Electricity Company of Ghana. She has also represented clients in civil and (quasi) criminal proceedings in court and before the Commission on Human Rights Administrative Justice and Labour Commission.
She has worked with Ntrakwah & Co, a reputable law firm in Ghana. She has a certificate in Management Development from Stellenbosch University, South Africa, and certificates in Project Management, Delf A1, Power Purchase Agreements from the Infocus International Group, Singapore; Engineering Procurement and Construction Contracts Training; Financial Systems: Banks, Capital Markets & Trade Finance; and Contract Drafting and Negotiation from the Institute for Global Law, Economics and Finance (Queen Mary University of London) and Corporate Law Institute - Training in Ghana. She is the founder of Lawyers in the Corporate Space Webinars – a platform for mentorship for in-house/ corporate lawyers. She enjoys charity work as well.
Bridget holds a Masters in Energy and Environmental Law from the University of Aberdeen, UK, a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, Accra, and a Post-Graduate First Degree, Bachelor of Laws (LLB) University of Ghana, Legon. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English & Psychology from the University of Ghana.

Samuel is an astute professional, a results-focused leader and a strategist offering over 30 years of experience in the Banking Industry with focus and expertise in Operations, Service Delivery and Operational Risk. He has a proven ability to drive operational discipline, drawing strengths from experiences in various facets of banking. He is well known for his interpersonal and multitasking capabilities and passion for excellence through continuous improvement.
Samuel is currently the Director, of Operations at the Consolidated Bank Ghana, and is tasked with the responsibility of ensuring the smooth and successful operations of the Bank. Samuel’s legal background has also influenced largely his perspective and decision-making in driving the operations of the Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited, with particular focus on policy, procedures and regulatory compliance.
Samuel is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana, and a member of the Ghana Bankers Association sub-committee on Fraud/AML/CTF/Security. He holds a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law, an MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School, and an LLB from Mountcrest University College.
Danielle Karikari-Darko

Danielle has worked on several cases in the areas of debt recovery, and labour and commercial dispute resolution. She has also advised both local and international corporations on compliance with local legislation and industry regulations.
Her attention to detail and inclination to thorough research ensures that clients receive holistic and well-informed advice for all queries. She is a committed young lawyer who is dedicated to producing timely results for clients.

Irene Nana Austin

Irene holds an LLB from GIMPA Law School and a qualifying certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law.
She is a Chartered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP) and a member of the Ghana Bar Association. She also has a degree in Economics and Geography from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
As an Associate, Irene has demonstrated high skills in legal research, writing and litigation and is dedicated to ensuring that all clients are well-informed and advised in relevant matters.
Knowledge and expertise garnered in Human Resource management are reflected in Irene’s relations with clients and stakeholders. Irene focuses on offering an array of skills in accurate employee job performance assessment, labour matters, recommending and implementing action plan strategies to meet HR needs, interdepartmental coordination, consultative relationship building and putting in place strategies that will help achieve the company's goals.
As a Labour Law expert, the desire to contribute her quota to maintaining the standards set for chartered HR practitioners are always evident in Irene's operations in ensuring client compliance.
Kwesi Owusu Akwaah

Kwesi is a lawyer and a management consultant, with a focus on the energy sector. He has over ten years of practical experience working for companies in energy, banking and telecommunications. He has played key roles in high-profile projects, including facilitating the digital terrestrial television migration in 2015 and being involved in the merger transition between First Atlantic Bank and Energy Bank. He currently heads the trading desk of Idol Energy.
His key competencies are in the areas of corporate law and energy law.
Kwesi holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London. Kwesi holds a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law and is currently pursuing an LLM in Energy Law from the University of Ghana.
